Stunning landscape

Stunning real Welsh river. Its flow will typically vary with the rain. It comes up very quickly for the canoeist out there.

The upper Tryweryn was busy on the day we paddled it with rafts and play boaters around to whitewater centre. But paddle further downstream taking the lower section to Bala and get the river mostly to yourself with almost constant decent grade 2 - 3 rapids and the more adventurous Bala Mill Weir, with a great little get out if... we loved this corner of Wales, doesn't get enough attention if you ask me! It looks like Merlin could step out of the mist at any moment, very wild and romantic stunning views even thru the mist. Hard to drive it though and stay on the road when you are so busy trying to look around at everything. Will come... More

An action packed and fun filled adventure - not for the nervous! Good value as we had 4 goes, each becoming increasingly difficult

Spent a day here, spent some time in one of the hides which was situated near the gift shop and tea room, never seen so many birds, it was wonderful. The views from the terrace of the hotel which overlooks the lake were fantastic.Great place for walking especially if you have a dog, the walk up to the waterfall was well... This place is a political disaster. Liverpool was running out of water in the early 1950s and took an Act to build a colossal reservoir in Cwm Tryweryn, drowning the local village. As soon as it was completed, many large firms in Liverpool which used huge amounts of water closed down, so the reservoir has not been properly used since.... More
