Built in the late 13th century and reputed to be haunted by a past resident, this picturesque castle was built for King Edward I and is a perfect example of the "concentric castle" design.

Prefer Caernarfon castle

Loved it, not a huge amount of history shared like Caernarfon but worth a visit if you are into old buildings 😀

The views over Conway from the top of the castle are beautiful. The castle has been kept in a very good condition and is defiantly worth a visit. Conway is a beautiful town i would advise a little walk around and the cafe just outside the castle does a very nice ham & cheese toastie

Visited with my family and this is a fantastic castle, not just a pile of rocks ! It's well maintained and was spotless. Plenty of boards explaining the history and you come away with good knowledge of the place. The views are amazing !! Enhanced by the fact you can climb all the towers! Definitely worth a visit.

Conwy castle is amazing to see, the ruminants of the walled city are fantastic to look to get a visual insight into history as to how it was setup. You could spend hours exploring hte whole place, the views from the top of the towers are breathtaking

Lovely historic castle, with a nice walk to follow around the walls. Plenty to see and do in Conwy too!

The town of Conwy is quaint and very beautiful, and the small castle fits right into this mold. Towers are open for climbing right to the top and you'll be treated with a spectacular view if the weather permits. Best part of the castle visit IMO. However the steps are narrow and stairwells dark (dimly lit at best) so make... More

I haven't been to Conwy Castle for at least 30 years, so it was nice to revisit it after such a long time! The scenery is breathtaking from the top of the towers and the air is so fresh. We really enjoyed ourselves here today and had a good look round the little town before heading home.

Been past the castle many times but never actually gone in till today. The kids were very excited to be there and were running about with their swords at every opportunity as their imaginations went wild! It is a great castle with wonderful views. The walled walkways are good and you can climb to the top of the towers. We... More

We arrived after 5pm and therefore the castle was closed. However, it was still spectacular and we were able to walk around the sides with the sun settig behind the turrets, it was beautiful. Would recommend.

A proper welsh castle attraction. Very good value for money and lots to experience. You really feel like you're going back in time. I would definitely visit again because the views you get are lovely. Not the best if you're claustrophobic / elderly but plenty of nice grass to sit on while other climb the towers!
