There’s no separate TA listing for the Tithe Barn Food Hall Café so we’re posting this review on the Tithe Barn “thing to do” listing. We were visiting Abergavenny again, and having viewed the tapestry on a previous trip, we just popped into the café late morning for some tea/coffee and cake. Great value cake portions at £1 when we... More

Just popped in for a quick snack. Baked Potatoe and onions with salad. Potatoe was warm not hot. It was dry and the caramelized onions were cold. Salad was limp. Time 12:15pm so no excuse for condition and quality of food.Lovely place to sit in. Also incorporates the Tourist Information and is next to Saint Mary's Priory Church. Clean, warm and... More

We were sorry to read your review and it was a pity that you didn't mention this to us at the time. We would have happily resolved this in the best way we possible. I'm sorry that our food didn't meet our usual high standards. At least we achieved on everything else. We would like to make this up to... More

Many thanks for your review and we agree it is a lovely place to stop in Abergavenny and unwind with tea, coffee and some food. The exhibition outlines the history of the St Mary's Priory Church and the history of Abergavenny. We really appreciate your time in reviewing us and more so in spending time with us. More

The tithe barn is a nice space serving inexpensive food and housing the millennium tapestry. The tapestry is a wonderful expression of community and tells the history of the area in a beautiful medium. 60 people were involved in its making and that in itself is a marvel. There is also an exhibition and some dressing up available for younger... More

Good wholesome food. The soup and roll is very good value. Very close to the bus station and car park, so a very good meeting place. Big chairs and table inside and small metal chairs outside in a lovely courtyard when the weather permits. A visit to St Mary's next door to see the medieval Jesse oak carving is a... More

On a cold wintry Tuesday in Abergavenny we were looking for a hot drink and a sit down. Most of the cafes in the Main Street were full so made our way back to the carpark to go home when we found this idyllic place in the tourist information building. A visit to see the famous tapestry is a must... More

The Tithe Barn in Monk Street right next door to and part of St Mary’s priory church is currently the home of Abergavenny’s tourist information office and is open six days a week from 9am to 4pm. It has a good size café on the ground floor, which they call the Food Hall, and upstairs there’s a display of a... More

A hidden gem and we'll worth a visit. Allow a couple of hours especially if you want to allow enough time to visit St Mary's church and view the beautiful stain glass and statues plus the exhibition and tapestry and finish off with lunch or a cuppa in the delightful cafe and brows the gift shop. The tapestry and audio... More

The information centre is situated in the Tithe Barn and the member of staff told us about the exhibition and the beautiful embroidery on display. It's free to see and is certainly worth a visit.
