Lovely views in the summer and all the grounds are very well kept, with a small playground around the back. However, there is little else to do, so wouldn’t stay here long only for a picnic or something.
The free to enter ruins are simply that. You will have to use your imagination to see how the castle was before it was destroyed.

Well worth a walk to the Castle. Its located up on the head with the War Memorial and has excellent views. Also there are plenty of walls to walk around and for the kids to climb. Also plenty of benches to sit on and admire...More
Although there isn’t much left of the castle itself, the history behind it is impeccable. There is a playgroup situated nearby and a windy path to guide you through the ruins. Not so nice in the cold but lovely on a sunny day!
