I have wanted to visit Old Sarum for many years and was not disappointed. The cost of the car park was reimbursed from the entry charge. Everything was explained in easy to read boards. Fortunately it wasn’t windy when we were there, or you could...More

A beautiful historic place. Even though there are only ruins left of the old castle, it is easy to imagine how it must have looked, and walking the area of Medieval history is very impressive. Definitely part of a great heritage tour.

This isn't just a castle, it's also the site of the first Salisbury Cathedral, and the foundations are still there to see. It's a great place to walk dogs, and the majority of the site is free though if you want to see the ruined...More

Being just off the road between Salisbury and Stonehenge it's a place worth visiting. The view from the castle is amazing. You can see far into the English countryside and the Salisbury Cathedral in the near distance. There are big parts of the castle that...More

This fort is well placed for looking over Salisbury. The defence wall around the mound is very high and very well preserved. In the day you could not enter by any other entrance that the front. The uninvited likely killed.

if you just want to see the ruins maybe 90 mins or so depending if you walk the surrounds. why not add in a picnic or visit the pub avross tne road. If you're trying to cram, combine with stonehenge and Salisbury city. Enjoy
