Visiting in April, this was a good time to visit with the garden in full bloom. The house was great with many interesting things to look at. I would urge anybody visiting to chat to the room stewards, they are passionate about their subject and can provide a wealth of extra information

Mompesson House has a stunning position on The Close opposite Salisbury Cathedral. The house is interesting but all the contents have been moved in by the National Trust, and knowing this takes away some of the atmosphere. Worth a visit if you are in Salisbury in any case.

Whether you belong to the National Trust or not, you really need to visit here. Fascinating history to the house and very informative guides in nearly every room. Not overly expensive to enter. No car parking.

We visited purely by accident as our daughter had checked in on the same day as we decided to visit Salisbury. She had already left the house by the time we got there so we decided to take a look for ourselves. It's a reasonably small property with 8 main rooms on display. The whole place has a lived in... A lovely house, small by some standards with a lovely garden. Very interesting to wander around the property and learning how it was restored. Great views of the cathedral and the very attractive square. Worth a visit.

This is a beautiful house to visit, not too large, with a lovely garden. Definitely worth visiting and in the city centre by the cathedral.

Found this as we walked to the cathedral. Very pretty garden with a tea room and shop. House was interesting and knowledgable staff in the rooms to answer questions. Worth a visit if you're in the area.

Nice House and pretty garden. However it is a small property compared to many other National Trust sites. Therefore I would recomend visiting as part of a trip to Salisbury rather than a visit to the property alone.

This National Trust house has 4 rooms on display and a beautiful garden illustrating the works of the earlier owners. It is also celebrating 40 years of NT ownership with a room dedicated to showing how the house was when first taken over, and a free pamphlet to accompany this(Sudbury Hall take note - when we visited that house they...
