A really interesting place to visit both inside and out. Lots of hands on activities inside the house for children and, when we visited, a nature trail around the garden. The gardens are well worth a vist. Other school holiday activities available on site as...More

There are toilets, cafe, gardens, museum and an interesting Manor House with reconstructed internal rooms which are all worth visiting. The BBC reconstructed the rooms for a TV Series. The guides were very helpful. The cakes were excellent in the cafe inside the Manor House.

I live locally and drive through Avebury most weekdays on my way to the office but had never visited Avebury Manor itself. Having now done so, I’m pleased to say that I was not disappointed. Very interesting and well worth a visit.

Came to Avebury for the winter solstice. Prior to walking around the stones we visited the manor. Each room is furnished as it would have been in a particular period in history which makes for a far more interesting experience. The guides were all pleasant...More

We booked a tour given by the House Manager and we really enjoyed this. There was a script she followed which worked well with the support of other House staff - one lady read extracts from seasonal historic events which gave the whole thing real...More

There are many manor houses to visit throughout England but this one is definitely worth it given it allows you to experience what it was like to live there. Sitting at the table, lying on the bed or playing a game of billiards, all makes...More

We hadn't intended on visiting the manor while at Avebury stones but were glad we did. It's an interesting place, both it's history and the BBC National Trust project that saw it re-furnished through different centuries. You can touch, sit on, lie on and dress...More
