Something we've been meaning to see for a while and luckily had nice weather to enjoy the gardens as well as the house. Helpful and knowledgeable volunteers around the house made the visit much more interesting than it would otherwise have been. Gardens are lovely...More

We went here on an excursion last week and were most surprised. The building, and indeed the gardens, are beautiful. Each one of the rooms was decorated in a different period - Tudor, Georgian. Queen Anne and 1930's Art Deco. Each room had a person...More

Avebury Manor is a wonderful example of how to truly engage visitors of all ages. Before reaching the actual Manor House, there are two museum areas to explore, sharing details of the area and dating back as far as the Neolithic age. The house itself...More

Plenty for to see and do, especially for the kids, with lots of history. We especially liked the chamber horse - a strange looking chair that was designed to ape the motion of horse riding and was supposed to keep eighteenth century gentlemen fit!

There are toilets, cafe, gardens, museum and an interesting Manor House with reconstructed internal rooms which are all worth visiting. The BBC reconstructed the rooms for a TV Series. The guides were very helpful. The cakes were excellent in the cafe inside the Manor House.
