I took two teens here before Christmas as an alternative to Yorks which is very claustrophobic. Had a drink in Thors - Mulled wine and hot chocolate for the kids. Thors isn't actually sited in the market though and initially I thought that was it since I've never been before. A quick Google showed me I needed to walk a... More

Very disappointed with the German Market this year. The layout has changed and it feels very small. For such a large city I don't understand why the put it in that small square. Surely it would be better down the Main Street in Leeds for more space and more stalls? There was less there this year than last. Seems to... More

We decided to visit the German market as we were driving past and I'm so glad we did! We went to one in York last week but this one was so much better! The little stalls sold lovely trinkets and gift ideas. There were plenty of little stalls to get food/sweets etc... there were a few rides too for the... More

Very poor market given the publicity. Mostly food and drink stalls with very little in the way of crafts. Head for York if you want a good Xmas market.

Location: Market surrounded by fencing and security. Organised set up and stalls well put together. Things to get / do Funfair Eating & Drinking Sweets Small gifts Overall: It's much smaller than expected, if you want to grab a bite to eat or drink this is the place for you, if you're expecting to purchase Christmas gifts for loved ones... Millennium Square is used for several events throughout the year. We have been for Slamdunk festival which is good, but space is wasted with merchandise stores in the main area. Recently visited for the Christmas markets which were shockingly bad. Minimal stalls, expensive food and drinks.

Whilst the quality and atmosphere of the individual cabins was lovely, the sheer number of them was very small. Was just a handful of gift stalls and the remainder were food to eat there and then. There were lots of fairground rides so the children no doubt would enjoy it, but certainly not worth travelling a fair distance for (as... More

Having been to other Christmas markets, we thought we'd try Leeds, having heard it was meant to be big. Never again! It took longer to walk from behind Kirkgate market (where the coach dropped us off), to get to Millennium Square., than the time spent there. It was all food to eat(on the go), tree decorations, wooly hats &toys. No... More

The market has spread out a little from last year however it still feels a little cramped and claustrophobic. Most of it is wedged into the square and it doesn't take many people wandering about to make it crowded. It wasn't the most pleasant walk around with two young kids as constantly getting bumped and barged. It was Ok, but... More
