The house is stunning, the gardens especially the Himalayan garden are beautiful, the children's play area is sturdy and fantastic. We had a great day. However, we were appalled at the state of the cages and shrubbery in the bird garden. The bird garden and farm are totally outdated and I think the owners should think seriously about doing away... We spent most of the day wandering around the gardens and the animal displays. The Himalayan garden is very nice. For us, however, we were blown away by the beauty and variety of tulips grown there. All that being said, we really enjoyed the tour of the house, seeing the art work, furniture, the fashions (of course, this house plays... More

we visited this beautiful house with our daughter and partner, we all enjoyed the house and the gardens, but was shocked at the state of the bird cages, looked like the water had never been cleaned or changed, but not to bang on too much about it, if Harewood House can not keep the birds in suitable sized and cared... We (with one young teen in tow, older one was revising for her GCSEs) met friends with young children for a day out and catch up. I'd visited before but to everyone else it was a new experience. After easy parking, we spent a good while at the adventure playground which suited all the children aged 4 to 13, enjoyed... More

We spent a whole day at Harewood from when it opened to almost closing time, there was plenty of things to see and do. The house itself is worth the visit but when combined with the beautiful grounds and bird garden it really is value for money. The Himalayan garden is especially worth seeing as is the boat trip around... More

We bought tickets to the grounds only - this allowed us below stairs. There was plenty to see walking around the Himalayan garden and lake front. We had tea and homemade cake whilst watching the penguins being fed!!!

Harewood House is a country house in West Yorkshire, designed by John Carr and Robert Adam with the grounds landscaped by Capability Brown. The house was the location of the TV series 'Victoria' and presently there is a costume exhibition of the era. There is also an opportunity to visit the rooms below stairs to see how the people working... More

This is a lovely place to visit. When we first arrived we explored the outside visiting the gardens and wildlife including owls, penguins and flamingos. We went into the main house, many very impressive and well furnished rooms and bedrooms. The excellent and friendly staff gave us lots of information as we walked around. We visited the servants quarters and... More

Took my 3 year old granddaughter and 12 year old niece for the day in the Easter holidays. They both enjoyed looking round the house, the well equipped adventure playground and the Bird Gardens and farm, especially seeing the penguins being fed. There are plenty of picnic tables if you want to take your own lunch, which we did, but... More
