From the moment you arrive, Harewood captures your imagination and feeds your curiosity. It's a place filled with art, culture and heritage which continues to develop and thrive today.

One of the Treasure Houses of England, the historic Georgian property sits within "Capability" Brown designed landscape with remarkable views from the award winning Terraces. Come inside and you'll be blown away by rare Chippendale furniture and jaw-dropping interior designs in the State Rooms. Make sure you leave time to explore the well-trodden corridors of Below Stairs. A place where young kitchen hands can get hands on with history, dress up and discover life a servant or you can enjoy a changing programme of contemporary art exhibitions in the Terrace Gallery.

This is a beautiful place to visit, steeped in history, gorgeous grounds with animals and birds, play facilities for kids and a lovely in and outside eatery with decent food. The viewing of the house is well set out so you don't miss anything. You can now walk across the lake via a bridge to the island which have a... More

Excellent for all ages of children & changes displays regularly. House is great to visit and some activities for the children inside to keep them interested. An all round favourite for us. Although it's quite expensive for a short visit, we took an annual pass and have made good use of it for days out with the children. Great spot... More

This is an OK destination. Compared with other big stately homes in Yorkshire, there is less to the house. The gardens and grounds are fun to explore and wander around. The bird garden is getting a bit tired and seemed to have a number of empty cages.

Visited here out of season and the estate was closed (websites give mixed info so not helpful). We still had a lovely walk around the grounds and planned to visit in better weather. However after walking through an open gate which led to some ornamental gardens, I stopped to feed my 3 month old and a man came marching over... More

I walked the entire grounds around Harewood House with my friend and our dogs. We enjoyed wonderful views across the estate. The deers wander freely and the woods are accessible too. This was 7 miles in total, no challenging hills and a glorious view.

Unfortunately the house was closed when we visited, but we still enjoyed visiting its grounds. We walked around the house and enjoyed watching a hunt commence with people on horse back accompanied by hounds! Would definitely recommend.

We've been here many times before but for my birthday this year my partner booked me in to feed the penguins. What a surprise. It was so much fun going in the enclosure and feeding them by hand. I've never been that close to one before. Great experience. I will never forget it.

Was going to bypass this place until we found out about the amount of Chippendale furniture. Only as we were driving in did you sense this was another Capability Brown classic. The house didn't disappoint, the gardens are superb. Really love the work of Capability Brown. And take the time to walk down to the Lake.
