For those interested in the warfaring side of our histories this visit is a must. Be prepared for many return visits, entrance free, parking in nearby multistorey. There are 5 floors to explore and many exhibits to see. You can make your visit as short or long as possible. A general or a detailed study of the artefacts whichever you... More

Excellent museum with lots to see. Some interactive exhibits and talks too. It's in a brilliant building with restaurants near by although there is a cafe and shop in the same building. You can take the free water taxi from near the Double Tree hotel on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Took the wife and two 10 year olds. All enjoyed it. The displays of weapons are very impressive, and obviously extensive, from the Middle Ages to the present, including weapons seized by the police. Also saw the falconry display and a guy demonstrating armour, all great stuff!

My partner dragged me to The Royal Armouries Museum while we were in Leeds. No need to say that as a woman I wasn't very impressed. I could see all the guys were very interested while their partners were bored like me. The Museum is huge and everything looks great but it's just not my cup of tea. My partner... More

We went on a Saturday and the place was just a hive of activity with everyone enjoying what is a remarkable (and free) museum. Situated over several floors, it is arranged by eras and features some magnificent displays. An absolute must see for anyone travelling to Leeds.

All very good and interesting - well worth a visit. Feel guilty not paying - left a donation. Lots for young children too

Impressing and very interesting displays of armour through the ages. A great place for children to visit, particularly when the jousting events are on. And considering it's entirely free, it's definitely a destination not to be missed!

I visited the Leeds Armouries Museum on a dull day in March, however, the inside was anything but dull. The architecture is beautiful and the feeling of space and airiness inside adds to the naturalness of the exhibits. On the day I visited there were several different talks, which lasted about 15 minutes, on topics such as 'Normans: Hastings 1066',... More

We spent a lovely couple of hours going around the exhibits. Some great interactive elements, probably designed for children but very much enjoyed by us adults. Numerous video installations with surprisingly good headsets, although some of the narrations seem very dated. Paid the £3 to shoot a crossbow which was great fun and seemed a reasonable price.
