The novice museum in Chichester is an excellent place to visit and it is FREE! The museum has wonderful ancient roman finds together with all sorts of history about the Chichester area. Also there is a Tim Peak area in the museum which has exhibits of Tims trip into space. There are also some video footage about the land resettlement area around... Lots to see here and the Tim Peake exhibition is an inspiration. We also enjoyed the Murray and Land Settlement Association sections. Everything in fact from Roman ruins and mosaic floors to Tim Peake cleaning his teeth in space. Do leave a donation though as it's all free.

The building is tucked away down a side street and we thought we'd be in and out in a flash. No. It was an unexpected pleasure; so many interesting facts from Roman times right up to Space exploration. Worth a visit!.

We visited, mainly for the Tim Peake exhibition which was interesting, fact filled, and sadly in need of maintenance. Several activities were broken, drawers with activities were empty, and generally it felt unloved. After a short while the background 'music' really drove one nuts, it was a continuous drone. Yes the lift was fun. What was most upsetting was the... More

Dear tealady723, Thank you for visiting The Novium Museum and taking the time to leave a review. We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed our 'rocket lift', but it is disappointing to hear that you did not consider the museum to be up to our usual high standards. Our staff do perform regular checks around the museum throughout the... More

A very interesting museum and at the time of visit there was a display featuring Tim Peake the British Astronaut who hails from Chichester. Even to my 6 year old grandson the majority of the exhibits were of interest and not beyond his capabilities to understand and he told his nanna about it all after the visit and his parents... More

We recently visited Chichester, and top of our list of things to visit was the Novium Museum. We mainly wanted to see the Tim Peake exhibition currently running there, but the Novium (built on an ancient Roman bath house) is a fascinating slice of local history in general too. Dipping into Chichester's rich heritage as an important centre of commerce... More

Perfect for children, we arrived an hour before closing which gave us plenty of time to enjoy the Tim Peak exhibit. Our children would have loved to stay even longer. Compact, hands on, child friendly, accessible via lift, highly recommended.

It may be small and fairly quirky, but it's a nice place to spend an hour or two, interesting local history and exhibits.

Always a pleasure to visit the Novium. This time impressed by the rocket elevator to the Tim Peake exhibition, which runs all this year, and is a wonderfully presented, interactive taster of life as a local spaceman.
