A nostalgic cinema in the heart of the city, often showing minority interest films. Although the general feel of the cinema is pleasant, nice seating with drinks and snacks available, the big let down is the awful foul smelling mens toilets (don't know if the women's are as bad). The stairs leading down are dirty and the smell is overpowering... More

Everything about this cinema is special, from the warm welcome, great choice of drinks and nibbles, luxury sofa seats, waiter service...just can't fault it! If you're after a wonderful relaxed few hours watching a film, this is the place to go!

Electric Cinema is the oldest working cinema in the UK! Right there is the perfect reason for going. Also they have the nicest bar that'll serve you gin and tonic! Who needs popcorn??? You can choose budget friendly if you go for the normal seats, or you can go all in and get a couch! It's worth it! My highest... More

We'd been given tickets to see a film with sofa seating as a Christmas present, so went to see the excellent film 'Moonlight' last week. This cinema is in a lovely old building, small and cosy and it's a great touch being able to book one of the comfy leather sofas at the back. It's also possible to order drinks... More

Okay, we visited way before march 2016 but that's as far back as it lets me go! We came to see The Artist for a date as we were dating (yes, that long ago. And yes, we are still together, engaged!) This place is just immense. Other than the toilets (again, we're talking YEARS AGO!) I can't fault this place.... More

Quirky, small, cosy and just lovely! Warm welcome at the ticket office and prompt service for nice coffee (in an actual cup!) from the bar. Was also not ludicrously expensive. Cakes looked very appealing. Escorted to our seats. Sofas at the back with text the bar service, nice standard seating and wonderfully comfortable armchairs at the front with footstalls. This... Splash out and get a sofa seat.. you get food and drink with waiting service whilst your watching :) takes the cinema back to the days when it was an occasion 😍😍😍😍 special little place and they often show films you can't get at larger cinema's.

I'm an avid cinema go-er so this was a real treat. My friends and I went to see Fifty Shades for a girly weekend, and treated ourselves to the comfy chairs and a glass of wine during the film. We weren't disappointed; the experience is even better in comfort and with booze!

We treated ourselves to sofa seats for the first time. If you are small like me (5 ft) better bring a cushion or bundle up your coat behind you like I did - the seats are a wee bit too long, so that if you have your knees at the edge your back is unsupported. Otherwise very comfy for the... More
