This square has been changed recently from a grassy slope used for picnics during summer days to a European-style pedestrian plaza that is accessible throughout the year.

Victoria Square is a nice place to go if you are touring around Birmingham. It's a great location to take pictures. Victoria Square is best at Christmas time when the German markets are up and it feels very nice and spirited. Would totally recommend to...More

Visited the Christmas Market on 23rd December - the last day. Nicely laid out, unfortunately the part by the Cathedral had already shut down, but still some nice nic-nacs to be had on the other stalls. Plenty of food stalls but it all comes at...More

Been to Birmingham Christmas Market for past 10 years, very disappointed in 2018. Very repetitive stalls selling same goods: disjointed planning with ice rink nowhere near market stalls, albeit due to even more building work outside main Library: distinct lack of food options compared to...More

Been to the Christmas market a couple of times a few years ago and really enjoyed it. However, our visit today was nothing like our past experience. It was no where nearly as large or as authentic. As per other reviewers said, stalls repeated, a...More

Me and my girlfriend came here on a packed Saturday afternoon and although I been before and had a good time, I don’t think it was good as before. I was served by a rude German woman who only allowed me to have one drink...More

Having been to Edinburgh Christmas market the week before, we knew of the vast amount of people that would be there. After a reasonably long walk we found the market. The beginning had lots of food and drink stalls, then it was straight all the...More

Visited for the first time and not over impressed. Same stall repeated many times and expensive. Lots of stalls selling alcohol. Not as big as I expected it to be. Worth a walk around maybe but we did not buy anything from the stalls.

Having seen this advertised as a huge Christmas market, laughingly called the Frankfurt market we travelled up from Canterbury to visit it. What a waste of effort. The German market in Canterbury is so much better!! Birmingham firstly really wasn't that big, it was about...More

Having lived in Germany for many years I was excited to visit the market in Birmingham. Sadly I was disappointed as the stalls were mainly food vendors and the other stalls were not selling authentic gifts. This market should be more artisan and for handmade...More

Birmingham Xmas markets are such a ripp off. You would be better going through it and visiting numerous bars for drinks. Most of the stuff looks like Aldi stuff anyhow. I work in Brum and as a city lacks any a architectural delights look at...More

The market gets really busy in the evening, there's no entertainment for kids other than a merry go round near the church.

Snow hill car park is reasonable, it's less than a 5 minute walk to the German market
