Went here last night for the Ex Cathedra Christmas Music by Candlelight concert. What a beautiful church, haven't been here for many years and don't think I appreciated just what a gem this is. The concert was held in the dark and the choir held candles which gave it a lovely atmosphere which was enhanced after the interval when there was a lovely aroma of mulled wine and mince pies. Need to return in the day time to really appreciate the beauty of this church, and will be doing so very soon.

Been to Birmingham lots of times but never ventured into the Jewellery Quarter area. Went to the 'Uniting the Nations' concert at St. Paul's Church there - really wonderful church in a quiet and relaxing part of Birmingham. Lots of little cafes and galleries nearby. Worth a visit if you're in Brum. The concert was fab too!

We didn't go into the great looking church at the heart of this cool square - there are nice grass areas with some planting mingling with the headstones and it's all very nice. Bars and restaurants are all around on the square and adjacent streets, creating a great atmosphere

St. Paul's Church is a late eighteenth century grade I listed building standing at the centre of an impressive square itself at one of the highest points in Birmingham's Jewellery District. It was designed by one Roger Eykyns and consecrated in 1779 although the tower and spire were not completed until 1823 and the war-damaged organ replaced in 1964. In its early days it boasted some of Birmingham's most famous men amongst its parishioners including Matthew Boulton and James Watt who had their own dedicated pews. It is now surrounded by the industry of bars, clubs and restaurants. When I visited on a Thursday afternoon one gentleman was sitting in contemplation whilst some soothing taped music was being played. There appears to be a good programme of concerts here.

I used to live in St Paul's Place and it was so nice to see this church with all of its history every time i left the building. We had a look around the church when my Canadian partners parents came over. They got a guided tour by the caretaker who was very knowledgeable and they were extremely impressed! They got to see where the bells were and went right up too the top of the tower! They loved it!
We went to the Church for midnight mass on christmas eve last Christmas which was very Christmassy, all that was missing was snow!
When I move back to Birmingham I will be moving back to this area of the city as i love it there. Well worth a visit as this part of the city is very usually missed out!

Classic British church in city square with courtyard where many people gather.A fun place to eat lunch wit many shops and restaurants surrounding St. Paul's Square. I had an office on Church Street which ends at St. Pauls.

Very big inside with a gallery seating area above running down both sides. We go for the choir during the Christmas week. Alternative stop by when it's open for viewing and make a donation.

Tranquil green space with lovely church and cemetery. Great to wander through at any time of day and beautiful all year round.
A gem of a building surrounded by nice old buildings right in the heart of bustling Birmingham City centre.

This is our 3rd year to the Ex Cathedra Christmas concert at St Pauls church. A wonderful little church with a great atmosphere for this concert as it is held by candle light.

If you get a chance to go inside this church it is beautiful. I first went to see a play but have been a few times since. Make sure you read the plaques on the walls - the history is fascinating.
