Welcome to St Martin in the Bull Ring. This is one of the most ancient and contemporary buildings in Birmingham. Most of this Grade II listed church is from the nineteenth century. It was built in 1873 and is an example of gothic Victorian architecture, designed by Alfred Chatwin, from Birmingham, who also worked on the houses of parliament. But St Martin's is much older than that. There has been a church on this site since 1290 and may well have been a simple place of worship here in Saxon times. St Martin's is also a place of worship for a thriving community who refurbished the building in 2000 making it more light and open. In 2009 we created a tea lounge, healing center, and learning and advice service so our hospitality in the heart of the city could be extended. We believe that what Jesus called 'Life in all its fullness' can be discovered right here in the crosscurrents of the marketplace. You are very welcome to come in and walk around.

While visiting Brum & the Bull Ring we were looking for a place for lights eats. We saw the church had a cafe attached so gave it a try. It was a light & airy place opened, we were told in 2003. The coffee was good & the tea served in a china pot. the cake & scones were all... More

I visited with my boyfriend and although Birmingham is not a huge city, it has quite a lot of interesting places and spots to see. St Martin in the Bull Ring is located in a very cool place, where you can seat outside and just enjoy the city and the views for a while.

I was really looking forward to shopping in the Bull Ring but never got the chance as my husband became unwell on entering the shops. I wanted to say that the staff in the Bull Ring were amazing. They came to our aid straight away and offered him help and a drink. Thankfully my husband recovered quickly. A huge thank... More

With all the modern wonders of the regrenerated building in Birmingham City Center, St Martin's had stood the test of time and is a tranquil oasis in this bustling area. All are welcome to have a bit of quite time and there is also a lovely café to enjoy,

This again part of the revamp of Birmingham centre but there is an emphasis here on integrating vistas that many town developments miss. Since the architect knows Birmingham ...make sure you get it too... look around. The commercial offer fantastic and sitting in front of this for a half hour to hour will not be wasted. But schedule two hours... More

A peaceful place in the middle of the shopping centre - beautiful building which is open to visitors. Enjoyed sitting in there and catching some peace amidst the shopping. Take some time to admire the windows - they're stunning.

Discovering this lovely church next door to the Bull Ring was a real surprise. The interior was beautiful and it was amazing to think that the church has stood here for so many centuries whilst everything around it has changed. It was damaged during the Birmingham blitz and there is a painting on one of the walls showing a reconstruction... More

We tried to get a taste of old Birmingham , i studied here , so i like to check out my old haunts .This is a lovely church that has the spirit of old Brum - however the developers have pretty much destroted any personality that Birmingham had and just turned it into a huge generic shopping centre. It is... More
