Fifteen acres of glorious landscaped gardens with over 7000 plants, shrubs...

Fifteen acres of glorious landscaped gardens with over 7000 plants, shrubs and trees - and a new Butterfly House. Close to Birmingham city centre, this hidden tranquil setting also has four glasshouses taking the visitor from the hot steamy heat of the Tropical rainforest with its rich vegetation, through to the Sub-Tropical House with its stunning palms and tree ferns. The visitor moves through to the Mediterranean House, with its citrus plants and bright conservatory-type blooms - and finally to the stark contrast of the Arid House with desert climate and stunning cacti.

If we hadn't pre booked we would have gone back home. We had to park on the street over 0.75 miles away, not good when you gave small children. Toilet facilities were lacking. Dinosaurs not brilliant some didn't even have what they were next to them ! Wouldn't go to another event there.

Visited the Botanical Gardens for the Jurassic Kingdom on the 21st May. Researched the parking options and decided to park on the road. Luckily we found a spot near to the main entrance. All in all the dinosaur tour was great apart from a few kids (including mine) complaining that that was not a Stegosaurus there. Maybe I am being... More

We went to the Jurassic Kingdom tour at the Botanical Gardens. The parking was a nightmare , we arrived at about 10.15am and the parking at the actual gardens was only for Disabled parking for the day so we ended up parked up quite far away after having driven an hour to get there. The park itself was beautiful and... More

Enjoyed our visit and discovered such lovely gardens, greenhouses and grounds right in the middle of Birmingham. My friends and I had not realised how large the grounds are and that there was a large children's play area, so more to see than we expected. However, the weather was not kind on the day we visited, so could walk further... More

Visited before Christmas for the lantern festival. Never been to the botanical gardens before, I am glad we visited but overall the lantern festival is a little disappointing and I wouldn't buy tickets again for this event. Tried to go there in the summer and there is a very little parking available.

Visited here for the first time as its local and I've never been. I have to say for the entry fee, I don't think it was worth it. We visited during the middle of setting up for a dinosaur display so I expected some areas to be inaccessible due to this, however what I didn't expect was the sheer number... More

This was our first family visit to this wonderful place on a hot and very busy Sunday in April. However, I am sorry to say that this review is all about the parking. On arrival at the facility main car park, there is little to state parking arrangements (the car park was rammed when we went). Once you have passed... More

WEDNESDAY EVENING

My partner and I have been visiting Botanical Gardens for many years and are

members. Recently my partner who is in receipt of treatment for vision

problems at the City Hospital, simply popped in to the Botanical gardens for

a brief visit (he has, in fact, recently retired (for health reasons).

Unfortunately he forgot on this ONE occasion to register in your machine his

car's registration number and as a result has now received today a fine from

the company you have contracted the car parking out to, of £60 - which will

increase I understand if he does not pay the fine promptly.

I feel quite angry about this on my partners behalf.

Given that we are long standing supporters of your gardens and that this was

the sole occasion he simply forgot, and that indeed HE IS ALREADY A MEMBER

(and no doubt partly because of his preoccupation with his health problems-)

we request that your senior manager seeks on his behalf to liaise with your

car parking organisation and 'waives' this 'fine' immediately. We have never

approved of this new arrangement for members though we have complied. It

seems to be a means to abnegate your responsibility for the parking issues

and only complicates the resolution of this kind of error on the part of

your/visitors/members AND creates ill feeling all round.

We will probably visit you tomorrow morning and would ask that you seek to

represent my partner and get the fine waived without fuss and promptly so as

not to cause any more stress to my partner than has already been occasioned.

Presently we feel very let down, and this is very unjust. We are also

concerned that this might be happening to others who similarly occasionally

are forgetful and have then the hassle of seeking redress from your

contracted-out car parking 'corporation.'

Thank you. He is a paid up member of Botanical

Gardens. You can check this). I am determined that my partner will not be

required to pay what is essentially your instituted fine.
