Best venue in the city

We come here, usually for the Friday night popular classics, about 4-5 times a year plus the odd Christmas show. This is best venue for sound quality, seating, everything really.

I attend many concerts not just at Symphony Hall but the Symphony Hall is without doubt one of the best venues I have ever visited. The combination of size, seating position, acoustics and the services in the Hall make it somewhere I always look forward to going to. This time it was Jools Holland but it was an equally great... The hall is about 25 years old and reminded us of Charles Rennie Mackintosh, a modern take on a traditional hall, and the acoustics didn't disappoint. We heard the CBSO (City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra) Benevolent Fund Concert, "Totally Tchaikovsky." It was a lovely concert by a world-class orchestra, sadly not well attended. Just around the corner, the Christmas market... More

Attended Birmingham City University congregation there. A very enjoyable day for me but I've attended congregations/graduations in far more celebratory locations. Its a utilitarian building that cannot be faulted but it lacks a soul, sadly.

We came just before Christmas to see Roy Wood's and had a great time. This is a world class concert venue and caters for all styles of music. There are no restricted views and the acoustics are excellent. The are plenty of bars and restaurants in the vicinity. Whatever your choice in music make sure you see a concert here... More

The acoustics of this place never cease to delight. Recently we tried the choir stalls - I would not usually but we had a packed day and it was a bit of an impulse visit. Even there, in some of the cheapest seats the sound is marvellous. Went to their café and had pleasant cake and coffee but it is... More

My wife stated that she would love to go to see this performance an I thought that this year I better comply as I am not the biggest fan of classical music as refused to go to similar events over the years like the 1812 Overture. We decide to eat prior to the event and everywhere we went was fully... More

Wow, what a venue. Easy to find, easy to park, great views from all seats (it appears). Helpful staff. Went to watch Queen Extravaganza which was ideally suited to this hall.
