Lovely grand theatre

The modern facade of this building is deceptive as the auditorium itself is built on a Victorian style with a very steep circle, stalls and gallery boxes. It's quite grand. I've been to see several ballets and the Phantom of the Opera here. The sound is excellent, production of the highest quality. As with most large theatres the view from... More

Been here few times and never get disappointed with the performance! The seating is well-organized, and it is very comfortable, but sometimes a little bit too hot. But overall, it's a good place to enjoy performances

Just go and see this show and you will not be disappointed as it is in a great venue with a superb cast. The stage production is second to none, powerful folk story of the miners strike and a young boy's journey as an exceptional talented dancer. So much rehearsal time, passion and energy shone through and great Northern humour... More

A lovely theatre with lots of really amazing performances all year round. Tickets are reasonably priced for very good seats, we tend to sit in the rear circle and it is a great view. It can get very warm, however, always good to wear layers that you can take off if it's winter! It's easy to jump on the train... More

Saw Billy Elliott with a friend. Enjoyable show with no problems getting in/out or finding seating. Nice atmosphere and enjoyed it immensely.

Went to see Billy Elliot last night and what an incredible show it was! Yes there was bad language, it is set in a place and time where that was the norm so it really is true to life! As it should be! They do state that it contains strong language and smoke, so people are warned, and it does... More

Great show & loved all the characters & the dancing was amazing especially Billy. What I really don't think adds anything to the show is the appalling language. I get that it's set in a working class mining town but do they swear all the time? I went on a Saturday matinee performance and there were a number of young... More
