Lovely Natural Riverbank near Royal Shakespeare Theatre

A haven of peace and tranquility just round the corner from the RST. Beautiful on a sunny day, and scenic even when the weather is not so good.

Nice gardens on the banks of the avon leading up to the RST. Various posters of previous RSC productions feature in the gardens.

Plenty of waterfowl, great views across the river, easy access to pubs such as the Dirty Duck, and the theatres of course.

One of the many pleasant riverside places to walk in Stratford and a lovely tranquil link between the Royal Shakespeare Theatre and the church where the great man is buried.

A nice ramble along the side of the avon, worth following to see parts of the town that not everyone gets to, but would benefit from sign-posting showing the walk.

Love walking along the river and do it as often as time and the weather permit. Like walking in Shakespeare's footprints and looking at the trees and wildlife.

We walked through here whilst on a day trip to Stratford. We had visited the church and walked along the river. A beautiful spot, nice and peaceful when we visited.

Avon Bank Gardens is the home of free Shakespeare in the park- most Sat and Sundays throughout the summer. Get there early to set up your picnic close to the stage, otherwise it maybe hard to hear since they don't use microphones. We recently watched Pericles and were thoroughly entertained, even the youngest of our group (age 9). They do... More
