After a stroll in the cottages. You can enjoy a wonderful afternoon tea on the Rooftop of the Royal Shakespeare Theatre. The gift shop is located at G/F. The Rooftop has a variety of food with beautiful scenery overlooking the river. We had a very nice relaxing afternoon with warm scones, clotted cream and jam. A variety of finger sandwiches... More

Simon Russell Beale's performance as Prospero proved riveting as expected...his acting is superb. Jo Dixon as Caliban was the best performance I have seen of this role....moving, spell-binding, sympathetic...his interpretation, movement and timing just excellent. More of him please. And, finally, Tony Jayawaedena proved terrific, what a great casting. For those who have not seen the performance, try and catch... More

I always enjoy going to the RSC. The view from where ever you sit is good and you can guarantee a good few hours. The staff are helpful and always willing to help. The shop is always worth a browse even if you don't end up buying ( not that that ever happens to me!) try it hopefully you will... More

We went on the backstage theatre tour, this costs £8.50 for just over an hour and was worth every single penny. If you're interested in theatre then this is a must do. We went into both the main auditorium and the Swan theatre, the Tempest set was up as they were the next day recording the performance for cinema (... More

Our first visit since 1982. Magical production of The Tempest. We had seats with "limited " view and I was anxious about that. But no need we could see everything apart from a tiny part of the stage . Like most theatres we found the leg room here limited . But the whole experience was wonderful.

We went there to watch a play, rather than visit the building, Terrific to watch a great performance by leading actors of a classic Shakespearian play! Really enjoyed it! It was easier to get a ticket than in London, but you still need to book as far in advance as you can. Hard to hear some of the actors. Don’t... More

Went to watch The Tempest, first time at this theatre, amazing seats, easy to get served at bar even at the interval despite being understaffed, excellent service throughout and an incredible production, I want to go again!

What a superb production of The Tempest. Simon Russell Beale delivers an absolute gem of a performance (a master class in voice projection & clarity without shouting) supported by a wonderful cast. Try to see this production while you still can! Now to the theatre itself. It is, of course, an iconic building which was, at the time it was... More

Hubby and I booked on the backstage tour. Our tour guide Matilda, was excellent. She was knowledgeable, friendly and full of great snippets and stories which made the tour so interesting. We especially enjoyed the section where we could see the costumes and techs. Thank you. RST you have a gem of an employee in Matilda!

Fantastic production, excellent performances all round but especially from Trinculo, Stephano, Caliban and Ariel. Seats in stall row L had restricted views which for other shows is not always an issue, but for this production I'd aim for seats slightly more centred and forward if you can. Hugely enjoyed none the less! We also went on a behind the scenes... More
