The major library in the city centre, housing Tourist information, a decent cafe, as well a a large public lending library. Now has various parts of the City council departments within, and a large history centre, with computers to be able to use for research. Frequent user.

This library is quite modern inside and they have a nice cafe when you're feeling peckish. If you want to use the computer you need to book it with a member of staff and they will tell you. Id reccomend getting a library card as you'll need this for other things too. They have a good selection of fiction and... More

Has everything that you would expect from a modern library with very good resources especially for local culture and history. Lots of friendly and welcoming staff on hand to help too. This is a good library in the city centre. It has a good book selection, a good section on local interests and local history and a large section of computers for public usage. there are two entrances and directly left from the Princes Square entrance is a good coffee shop.

Newcastle's new city library is a few years old now but does a lot more than just lend books. It is a real mine of information. You need to learn how to use some of the tools but the staff are very helpful

I used to visit this library in the old building and what a great improvement this building is, named after the Newcastle musician Charles Avison. Go on the lift up to the local history section and see the exhibits.
