This traditional pub makes such a change from the theme-style chain pubs that seem to have taken over every city centre. The Bodega has a nicely understated charm that uses its architectural merits to the full by creating a relaxed and cosy atmosphere. The selection...More

Not plastic ,stupid drinks pub, but what I would call a proper pub without loud crashing music, with more importantly, REAL ALE kept well. Lovely 'Rennie Mackintosh" type glass ceiling domes, proper bar area. A bit spit and sawdust but we loved it. Depends on...More

Staying nearby so popped in for a quick pint. Good, varied selection of ale on. Very well kept beer, friendly service and quiet. Well it was Monday afternoon ! Hate to see it on match days though there is a lot of room.

We were recommended this pub for a pre match pint. Good beer selection and plenty of screens to watch early game. Very busy by the time we left. We enjoyed our visit.

My favourite Newcastle pub, this visit saw me enjoy a pleasant two pints practicing darts on a rainy afternoon against a backdrop of dreamy music and distant bar chat. First up was Wishbone Black Porter 6% ABV, one of the best I've tasted in months...More

Popped in here to try the ales as the blackboard outside stated it had plenty. I wasn't disappointed a good selection was available also craft beers. Pub is however in need of some decorating many of the seats were in a state of disrepair

Excellent atmosphere, friendly attentive staff and an excellent selection of cask ales which are in fantastic condition. I always enjoy a visit to The Bodega and never leave disappointed, only inebriated!
