At the Tyneside Cinema, we give a trip to the pictures the sense of occasion it deserves. We show the best films in stylish and beautiful surroundings, and our varied programme ranges from brilliant films from all over the world to the best Hollywood has to offer. As the last surviving Newsreel theatre still operating as a cinema full-time in the UK, our Grade II-listed building is an important, must-see piece of heritage, not just regionally, but nationally too and it has been lovingly restored to preserve and celebrate the grandeur of its original 1937 art deco design.

Really nice venue, bustling bar, coffee, and restaurant options. Informal, friendly and really excellent meals - great fish options and overall an imaginative menu of quality but without any pretence. Good beer and good value, will make a point of returning when next in Newcastle. Oh yes, and the film was great too, very comfy seating.

This is a beautifully restored cinema, tucked along a side street in the city centre They have a fabulous cafe attached which runs special events to complement the films on show. There are several cinemas, all different! There is great leg room and in some you can sit on a settee to watch your film. They show an eclectic range... More

The Cinema offers a variety of screen sizes and is very much a true cinema expeirence. The friends loyalty card is very good value and with the addition of the two new bars is a good place to simply meet up and have a drink / food.

We love to take the children on Saturday mornings, there's a large cinema screen, and comfy seats! Cinema tickets are £4 and each child is given a free raffle ticket on entry which gives them a chance to win tickets to see another movie at the film club (and we have won it a few times). Adults are only admitted... More

Friendly welcome to the adjoining bar and lounge, which even houses it's own mini screen. Comfortable seating in the cinema.

Amazing place to visit, very classic and elegant. There is coffee to drink, food to enjoy and cocktails to drink with your friends. There is also a private cinema that you can book in order to have dinner while watching a movie. How amazing is that?

Try the coffee, about the best in Newcastle, nice atmosphere and agreeable staff. The cinema and cafe looks attractive with cocktail spirits decking the shelves, never been on a night time but expect it will be buzzing with the younger set.

We attended an event held in the cinema and were very impressed both with the general comfort of the place and the acoustics. The seats were really soft and comfortable and everyone had a clear view of the stage. The place is well decorated and has a good, modern atmosphere. Our only criticism is that the rows of seats are... More

Fantastic cinema and a great restaurant serving lovely food, if you just want a coffee or a cocktail, or a light lunch/proper meal this is the place to go ! Friendly staff, who always chat to you and make you feel special, and top of this you can then go and see your favourite film.
