This is incredibly good for a free attraction. So much too see and plenty of fascinating stuff. The Turbinia (boat) is the centrepiece dominating the ground floor. There is a wet room which the kids will love - (bring a change of clothes) - you'll have trouble getting them out. There are various exhibits, some hands on. Also there is... More

I visited the Discovery Museum expecting to spend around an hour but was actually there for three hours. Lots to see, well displayed, helpful and knowledgeable staff. A great introduction into local history and world events influenced by Newcastle and their effects. Fascinating and highly recommended.

I have been here many times and it has lots to see. There was a tank out side for a few months, great history for all.

The discovery museum is full of modern history about the city of Newcastle. It was interesting to spend a just over an hour. Looked like the families there were having a great time too. It is FREE to visit

Fantastic museum for all ages-even adults. Lots of hands-on features and there's a science area to explore and to learn. The water area is great fun - and a bit wet! Definitely recommend for all ages. Didn't visit cafe so can't comment. The museum is free but one can give a donation. Very worth a visit!
