It does not have a lot inside but it is free to visit and the story of Bessie always brings a smile. Beautiful ceilings and original floors...A visit wont take long but worth adding to any visit to the Quayside

We made a short visit here. Pleased it was free so happy to put some money in the donation box. Interesting inside and out but it is quite small so not long needed for a visit

We were walking to Baltic and called in on the House on our way past. The structure itself is just fascinating and inside on the first floor you get some idea of what it was like to live in a house hundreds of years ago. Entry is free and you can make a donation if you want. A great little diversion on the Quayside.

Always wondered about this building. Free entry so called in when passing , filled in 20 minutes. The story isn't as exciting as the myth

This is a great house to visit. Not massive, so can be done within an hour. Very near Quayside, so quite easy to reach. Well worth a visit.

Fascinating building with a very varied history. Limited items on show but did not detract from the general ambiance. Pity no access to the higher floors or the courtyard areas. Very pleasant lady on Reception. Well worth a visit.

Limited area inside, basically one floor (the other 2 are offices for Historic England and off limits) Take you about an hour to see it all and read all the blurbs on display. I enjoyed it and would recommend it... plus it's free
