Kentwell Hall is a beautiful moated red brick Tudor Manor House in the historic village of Long Melford, Suffolk. Whilst not a stately home, this 'little great house' remains a lived-in and much-loved family home; something it has been for over 500 years.

Surrounded by timbered outbuildings, tranquil gardens and a large estate, Kentwell is popular for family days out, weddings, filming and functions and is noted for its special events programme including living history re-creations and the award-winning Scaresville experience.

We love this Tudor house and today was our first visit to wander around the woodlands to see the mass of snowdrops. We'll be back soon to see the host of daffodils that promise a good show. The restaurant is great - local products, well made and very good value (don't miss the cakes - superb!). All the staff are... More

I went here on one of their special days when people were dressed in their Tudor clothing. My friend brought her grandson and he loved it. I think it is the perfect property to learn about the Tudor period and best to come when they have their Tudor days because children can ask questions and get authentic answers. Otherwise, it... Magnificat Kentwall Hall is open throughout the year holding lots of different events including those mad enough to go on the scaresville events at Halloween - still not recovered! Lovely cafe style restaurant serving fantastic food with meats from the farm, superb quality. Venue lovely all times of year as gardens, farm, house etc has so much to offer, couples,... More

Visited here for the annual pilgrimage of the fright fest that we do every year and it always seems somewhat different even though in the same venue.

We went as a family last weekend to see just what a Victorian Christmas is like. I loved it as did the rest of the party. Only for the want of a few shovels full of gravel or chippings on the muddier bits would this have got the full 5 stars..... I know it's a working farm, and it's England... More

Attended the Kentwell Hall Victorian Christmas yesterday and was very disappointed. Found the activities very shoddy, expected much more for the cost of the tickets ! The house did not meet our expectations and was not at alll Christmassy. The refreshments were expensive, in all the waste of a day.

What a wonderful day! Kentwell Hall's Magical Christmas truly lives up to its name. On arrival you are given a map and (if required) a time to visit Father Christmas. You are then left to roam freely and explore. There are a whole host of activities for children and adults alike, we really loved "through the wardrobe and the craft... More

Having visited Kentwell Hall last year, I must say that on bringing my two young grand-daughters this year, I was most disappointed. Very little Christmas cheer was in evidence, and there were far fewer Victorian characters than I remember from my previous visit. The house was just as I remembered it and was beautifully arrayed, however the music hall was... More

Just got home from a lovely day at Kentwell Hall. A full day we got there a little after 10am and left and just gone 4pm. Would have stayed longer but my 7yr old was shattered! We met the big man himself. Yes a wait but tell me what father Christmas you don't have to wait for?! Some people moaned... More
