We brought the dog here and had a wonderful good long walk in the sunshine. The trail is long enough for a slow hour long walk, there is plenty of little things to do and see. Really love the cafe too - we sat outside.

Thank you for your lovely review of our Park. We now have a Beowulf and Grendel sculpture trail which is being enjoyed by many visitors. I shall pass your comment on to the café staff.

Had a great visit to West Stow Anglo Saxon Village. Took the kids as they were doing and Anglo Saxon project at school. The best bit were the 'real' Anglo Saxons who dressed up and demonstrated the typical Anglo Saxon way of life. They were...More

Thank you for such a positive review. Re-enactors certainly help to bring the Village to life. Regarding the car parking machines, we will always give change or you can now come to the visitor centre and pay with a card.

We had a lovely day here visiting the interactive museum and wandering around the fascinating village of Anglo Saxon buildings. On the day we visited there was the added bonus of having a try at archery which myself and my 11 year old daughter did...More

The site has been wonderfully developed since last visiting in 2006. The site is more accessible, the museum is really well laid out and contains lots of information in bite size chunks. I really liked the Saxon word translation boards. There are more huts in...More

Thank you for such a wonderful review and feedback! Good weather helps of course but it's very welcoming to hear that the staff passion and knowledge is appreciated.

We arrived at the Anglo Saxon village quite late in the afternoon and had the place practically to ourselves. It was very atmospheric wandering around the old village. The buildings reconstructed using traditional methods and based on archaeological theories are impressive though they are beginning...More

Thank you for your feedback. Our museum has recently been revamped using Arts Council money but we rely on public subsidy via the Borough Council to maintain the Anglo-Saxon Village. Glad you enjoyed the Village and appreciated staff efforts.

Owned by the council and reasonable entry fee. The museum was good but it was the outdoor reconstructions that I liked best. They had several different versions of an Anglo Saxon house. I believe it is experimental archeology. It made me think and try to...More

Thank you for your comments. You are correct that all our reconstructions are built with experimental archaeology and if we have made you think, then we have achieved a good result!

The setting is good and the idea sound, but the exhibits inside and out are looking rather tired and out-of-date in terms of display. The best bit was the explanatory film shown at the start of the visit. Otherwise, there are some display cases containing...More
