We attended an afternoon guided tour, and found it very interesting. Our tour guide was engaging and obviously knew everything there was to know about the mystic arts of brewing. Seeing the various stages of the process throughout the building was fascinating, and the view from the roof (and an overview of the town itself along with the extent of... More

Turned up a bit early and had a nice cup of coffee before Moreen the tour guide turned up and introduced herself. The tour was very informative and Moreens knowledge of the town and the brewery was next to none. Coupled together with her humour made the tour outstanding. When the tour had finished and we went to the tasting... More

Ok so being too hot and having loads of steps is expected, but for the price, what do you get? A work out for a look around. A taste of some malted barley. A few sips of rubbish beer not of your choice at the end. Oh, and they had the painters in when we were there so a nice... More

We visited here as a group of friends during an Easter break. Booking online had been difficult as the maximum you can book is five in one transaction. There were six of us so I made two bookings, but it was not clear why when I selected six it would reject it. The tour last around one hour and 45... More

Being fond of a beer or two We decided to try the Greene King Brewery Tour From start to finish it was great. Taking groups of around 10 a good 1.5 hours to walk round, lots of steps so not good for those with mobility problems. Our tour guide Sue was very knowledgeable, telling us all about the history and... More

What can I say? What is there to say? The J Dog was a delight. Funny. Only worked for 5 years? No way! That's insane. So good. Thanks to my mum I was able to come here with my friend/lover Daz. Daz said 'I don't want to. Why would I care about Greene King and John?' I agreed. What a... More

Just been to the Greene king tour and I must say John (aka J-Dog) was a delight. He was very knowledgeable on all things Greene King and even informed us on the local history of Bury St Edmunds, even though he's not from here. What a top guy! Very strong handshake too which is the sign if a real ale... More

Informative and interesting, talked about plenty of brewing and company history. We got to walk around the whole brewery across a few floors and 2 buildings. The views from the roof top were really picturesque. We had as many tasters as we liked in an upstairs bar before the next tour finished and moved us on

The tour guide was terrific. She took us round the brewery and explained the brewing process in a humorous and entertaining way, sniffing hops, admiring the views from the roof and generally giving us a fun time. After the tour we retired to the social bar and tasted heaps of different beers, with the guide (aka Beer Elf) adding information... More
