I love this quaint little cottage that is nestled in the countryside. I pass it on my way to the garden centre and have never been passed when it's open. This time it was a Sunday and open so I pulled in. I saw the three rooms quickly but loved seeing how the original building was built, he facts and... More

Izaak Walton the author of The Compleat Angler lived here and there is a small museum and garden at the house where he lived. Only open on certain days and during the summer.

No charge for entry. Herb garden at rear, also small museum and gift shop. Check website for more info. A must... More

Nothing much to say. The cottage sits alone in the countryside and opens only at certain times. There is a small free car park attached. The cottage is simple but "tells its story" The gardens are split in two: a rose and herb garden plus a lawned area.

The cottage is small. If you are interested in seeing Izaak Waitons Cottage this can be viewed in 30- 40 mins. You can then go to other nearby attractions. This is not a full day out but is interesting.

This attraction is easy to find, really well sign posted, However there are selected opening hours so make sure it is actually open before going. The cottage and its surroundings bring to life the ambiance of the "compleat angler"
