Fantastic

Like walking back in time. Charming area yet still a 'lived in' community. Very quiet and peaceful. Must see.

If you visit the Cathedral, you have to trot across the road and walk up this small Close. If you are interested in architecture, this is a 'must visit' place. I have been told that one of the cottages is available to rent as a holiday let, but I haven't checked that out as yet. The chimneys are the most... More

Walked down oldest and habitual street going back some 500 years. Very quaint but in these times not sure where you park your car if you lived here.

We walked through the Vicar's Close at twilight and it was magical...like stepping back in time. We met a friendly verger who lives there. He stopped for a nice chat and told us a bit about the street. Fascinating to look at how the dwellings have been modified over the centuries to accommodate changing lifestyles. Don't miss it.

If you are at the Cathedral you may as well go and see the Vicar's Close. It really is very pretty and well worth taking a few photographs...10 minutes should do it - a pleasant 10 minutes...

Vicars close is well worth a wander after visiting Wells Cathedral. It is steeped in medevil history.

At first you might think you had pottered into a film set - it is so perfect. Just across from the Cathedral just stop and imagine a world of yesteryear. That sounds so cheesy but really a joy

Best time to go to avoid people and capture a perfect clear shot is about 6.00-7.00 am. Thats when I took mine. First one was about 5.00pm where you will see German tourists.

Well worth a look if your in wells. It's such a beautiful street, and can make some gorgeous photos. It's free to access as it's just a normal street in the city, but it's tucked away by the cathedral, and cars can't drive down it. Like stepping back in time
