Beautiful gardens containing the famous wells

Very interesting free tours of the garden or palace which add to the visit. Gardens are stunning in good weather, under publicised tourist attraction which helps it keep its charm.

We actually only visited the grounds as the palace was hosting a function inside. But this was fine by us as they only charged us half the entrance fee, besides I'm not sure how suitable inside would have been for my boisterous 2yr old. There was plenty to appreciate outside anyway, beautiful gardens and lovely views from the old palace... More

We spent nearly the whole day here, it was so amazing. They have a great cafe overlooking the palace that sells lovely food. The palace is amazing and well worth the visit. We sat in the church for a while and reflected and walked through the amazing gardens. The buildings are amazing. They even let you have a play on... More

The name of Wells is taken from the springs in the gardens here. Pretty amazing to see the water bubbling up in the ponds here. Plenty to see as you walk round - some beautiful sections of buildings, ponds, flower gardens, arboretum with kids play area, the inside of the house, chapel, lots of space, little bridges and space to... We enjoyed our visit to the Bishop's palace. The palace was interesting, but I found the gardens to be much more memorable! There were lots of spring flowers out when we went, and it was beautiful! Didn't see any swans ringing the bell unfortunately! The palace is beautifully lit up at night too, which is worth seeing!

We have visited The Bishop's Palace many times, it is a truly beautiful serene place to be. The gardeners work incredibly hard to keep this place looking its absolute best. Inside the Palace is hugely interesting and there is a gorgeous little chapel there too...a MUST see!

The house itself is OK, but the garden is very nice. On a dry day its a beautiful and relaxing. Friendly people as well, with good advice on the interesting places.

Didn't go into Palace as already paid £10 for entry to cathedral but did sit outside the café opposite. Lovely shady area. All tables outside were full and we were warned because we were sitting next to it in picnic area we would have to have take away. Stood for ages waiting for sandwiches whilst those sitting next to us... More

The gardens were stunning. They were serene. They were fragrant. They were colourful. It was a lovely sunny day and we took our time strolling around the wonderful gardens. There are plenty of benches enabling us to sit and enjoy. It was a feast for the senses especially the roses. Inside the palace it was a treat to to see... More

A beautiful garden, a lovely place to spend an afternoon. We loved it and enjoyed tea and cake in the restaurant afterwards.
