An island of peace and beauty in the city. Take time to sit and stare away from the stress of the world.

We visited the week before Christmas. The Palace was beautifully decorated using natural materials including holly, ivy, and rosehips. We loved the gardens and were interested to see water gushing from one of the wells that gives the city its name.

Better than the Cathedral. Walk through the arch and over the moat. Nice grounds with interesting history and info. Nice view from the ramparts. Coffee and shop on site.

Nice grounds, ponds, park to walk about. The house and the chapel as equally delightful. To make the most of the ?£6.00 entry fee.... bring a picnic. They have a lovely little cafe as well but was closing when we got there.
