Beautiful climb

Good climb up with a bench at the halfway point. Spend sometime taking in the breathtaking 360 view.

If you don't climb you won't see the views, and they are awesome! The hills of Exmoor to the South and Wales to the NW. The Somerset levels laid out before you. Stunning

Go the easy way or the steep way, or chop it down with the edge of your hand. Great reward at the top.

If the weather is in favour then definitely make the effort to take on the Tor, we were blessed with clear blue skies and chose the woodland route from the top end of the town, following the public footpath signs across a field, and climbing the Tor from the short side, fairly steep with benches available as you make the... Be ready or a good climb. But the view at the top is worth the effort, there is a local bus service from the town centre to the venue.

There are two ways up one steeper than the other. We took the steep way up an easier way down. Parked on pay an display an walked, there is a park an ride on another car park but the longer walk is worth it. Views at the top are fantastic we were lucky to have fairly good weather.

I had read that it was easier to climb the steps from the opposite side of the village, and how glad I had seen that, because that was much easier on the climb, if you follow the blue walking signs from the High St, then go up Lambrook, St, then turn left up Dod Lane, go up a very steep... More

If you get the chance to climb Glastonbury Tor then do it! It's quite deceiving and doesn't take as long as you'd think. There are decent steps cut into the hill which makes it easier, although the path is quite narrow. I walked up from the rear which is a shorter climb. Going down I took the longer front path... We walked up to the tor easter morning. it was extremely windy up the top but the views were amazing. We parked in the factory shop car park on the other side of the public footpath entrance.

Car thieves operate in this area! Please be vigilant and keep everything out of sight, as we returned to a smashed window and my young daughters bag stolen. I refused to let it affect the wonder of the Tor though, beautiful views and a true energy. Wrap up warm as it's windy at the top!
