We visited Dunster Castle whilst on holiday in Somerset and can say that it did not disappoint. We arrived on site at around 10.15 and parking was easy, having paid the entrance fee we started with the grounds of the castle and the gardens. We...More

After visiting the castle, my day was spoilt by the poor explaination of the reason of having to change from my wheelchair to a castle one, which did not fit, and not manageable as my own, wet wheels would damage the floor, yet wet shoes...More

We went on an organised tour of the house as out of season - very interesting and the tour guide was knowledgeable and enthusiastic. The grounds are well worth walking around with lots to see. I particularly enjoyed the crypt.

Great afternoon. We went on a ' behind the scenes' tour today. Our guide was very easy to listen to and obviously very enthusiastic and well informed about the castle. We didn't need to see all the castle as we got the gist of it...More

After lunch in a nearby cafe, we took a gentle stroll around the grounds, encountering the odd skeleton enjoying the views of the gardens. The gardens had good wide paths, there were some steep ascents up stairs and also paths around the gardens

Beautiful castle, views, and gardens. Sitting on top of the quaint town of Dunster is this superb property. Lots of interesting facts to be heard from the volunteers in each room. Lovely shop and once parked an easy walk into the town.

A lovely trip, our daughters loved the haunted trail and gift at the end, it was great to visit on Halloween, just very disappointed that the crypt shut early and it was not advertised that it did, otherwise we would have gone there first. We...More

We loved Dunster and returned twice during our week’s holiday in Minehead. The views are spectacular, the gardens are amazing and there’s so much to do.

It was the first time I have visited this castle and I hope it isn’t the last. The most beautiful place with friendly helpful staff. The castle grounds were beautiful and there’s plenty to do for all ages.

I know it is a Faber mezzotint. I just was so excited at making the connection weeks after the visit I did not make it clear that it was based on the Kneller portrait of the rather dislikable Mohun.
