Spent a day in Cheddar Gorge. Dogs very welcome everywhere which was lovely. Walked up the gorge via Jacobs ladder first, very very steep, uphill for about 40 minutes. Worth it though, the view from the top is stunning. Came back down through the gorge...More

A real lively and fun village with lots going on and to see. Loved the shops and the scenery. We noted lots of young ppl making it feel quite trendy. We will be back

The small village of Cheddar in Somerset is dwarfed by the surrounding rock walls of the Cheddar Gorge. The small and very quaint town has tourist shops, pubs, cafes, cave adventures for sale and several boutique shops. Even if you are not there to climb...More

Found Cheddar village very tacky. Shops selling tourist tat that is available anywhere in the country. Best part was driving up through the gorge to get out! Cheddar Gorge itself is spectacular.

I’d recommend entering the gorge from the north and stopping at a car park on the way down to take in the size of it. You can walk down to cheddar from a car park in the gorge but there’s also parking in the village...More

Really pretty next to the water in town but let down by a stinky toilet and rubbish seaside town feel. It could be an amazing place with a bit of effort.
