About
Thermae Bath Spa is Britain's only natural thermal Spa and benefits from the warm, mineral-rich waters which the Celts and Romans enjoyed over 2,000 years ago. Located in the heart of the World Heritage city of Bath, Thermae is a remarkable combination of five historic buildings and the contemporary architecture of the New Royal Bath. Highlights include the open-air rooftop pool with wonderful views over the city of Bath, the flowing curves of the Minerva Bath, the multi-sensory Wellness Suite and a choice of over 50 spa treatments and packages.

    Lovely Pools
We had a lovely visit for my birthday, but definitely recommend going early. We booked the 09:30 slot and had a lovely hour where it was quiet, once it began to get busy around 10:30 it became less relaxing, especially in the steam rooms which did not keep much steam due to everyone coming in and out. Would not recommend if you are not very comfortable on stairs as one lift had been out for a while and it is often quite a wait for the other lift. Aside from this we had a lovely visit, my favourite parts were the Minerva steam room and the Minerva pool, which has its own current reminiscent of a lazy river! Would definitely go if you're thinking about it, but make sure you go early!

    Bring your own flip flops
The facilities such as the steam rooms, thermal pools are good. Facilities are 5 star. However I give this place a three star rating because the staff on reception, in my opinion, could do with customer service training. The last time I had this reception was going through immigration to visit America. The entrances aren’t well signposted to differentiate between walk ins and pre booked. When we asked a member of staff she was very off hand in explaining. When we got in the right queue the receptionist asked us to wait because she hadn’t allocated 4pm people yet- we were 4.30pm and arrived at 4.25pm. She didn’t say where to wait and when we asked she just waved her hand and said “anywhere”. At 4.30pm we had to prompt her to remember us. Then she asked if we had been before and we said “no”. She asked if we wanted the facilities explained and when we said yes, she looked exasperated. Dan on towels was lovely. There were two lifts but one was out of order causing big queues. Size ten flip flops are issued to everyone, despite the main demographic customer being women with women sized feet. Wearing size 10 flip flops to walk on wet stairs when you have size three feet because the lifts are broken is a trip hazard. If you want a five star rating please fix the lifts, put the more patient and polite staff on reception (there are some good ones in other areas of the business) and get some smaller flip flops.

    Standards have slipped
The last time I visited the spa was around 5 years ago and upon my return yesterday I was really disappointed. It certainly needs a revamp. Decorations and facilities looking very tired. Lots of the lockers were out of order. The showers in the wellness spa were not working. In one of the rooms only 2 out of 6 of the beds heated seats were working. I was promised slippers to be included in the cost but weren’t given any. The cafe has gone down hill. They used to provide nourishing cooking meals and now it’s simply a fridge with pre-made sandwiches, protein bars, yoghurts and nuts. The only thing that they had to offer for myself, being celiac, was a gluten free roll. It looked unappealing and dry. I opted for some nuts and this was the only thing I was able to eat in 3 hours so naturally left the spa starving. They have a strange process of having to walk down two floors to order and pay for a drink in the cafe, to then return to the terrace where your drink can be made and given to you. When you leave you have to separate your used towel and robe then throw it in two seepage 6ft cages at reception. Not exactly the ‘luxury’ experience you expect. It felt like I was saving the staff a job. In most spa’s you have a used towel/robe bin in the changing rooms. It is a real shame as the spa has so much potential. Some money needs to be spent to be able to keep up with their competitors.

One of Our Best Experiences Ever!
We have traveled quite extensively over the last several years and had many fun experiences, and the Thermae Bath Spa is simply one of the best ever. The facility is incredibly clean, efficient and well managed. All you need to bring is a credit card and a swimsuit, and they take care of the rest. They offer a number of bath/spa options, but the rooftop pool, is THE BEST! We spent our entire time in the rooftop pool. The water is warm and inviting, with the opportunity to experience the "bubbling sensation" while viewing the beautiful and iconic Bath skyline. Have fun!

    Amazing
I don't think any other spa can top this now! With 3 different floors of things to do - 2 being pools with jacuzzis, and the other sauna/steam rooms, it was absolutely amazing! We thought 2 hours would be too long, but we could've easily spent another hour there! Just such a shame they have a no phone policy, I would've loved to take a photo on the rooftop, for the memories! We went to the cafe too, had amazing mochas! They add 30 minutes to your time if you do this!

    Worth it for the experience
It all seemed a bit crowded even though there is timed entry. It is on several floors which meant we had to take our towel and robe round with us to the different rooms. It would have been helpful if the items were different colours as you could easily lose your own . We had to queue for the lift and the showers and cubicles were on different floors. Always had one eye on the clock. The massage was enjoyable and the roof top pool a great experience as you get a good view of the city. The wet rooms were busy. I would say it was an experience but not the relaxing day you would have a tradional spa.

Can be slightly Overcrowded but still at great spa
Located in central bath this spa is a great place to visit. There are 4 floors so lots of chilling out. The place is very clean given the number of people who go through. Week days are probably quieter. Definitely worth a visit.

    Great value
When I told my friend we were visiting Bath, she said the Thermae Spa was a must do! I was a bit dubious about spending £45 but I wasn’t disappointed at all! They give you a towel and robe to use. My only criticism was that the belt loop was missing from one side of my robe and the loop at the top was also loose so would be good if the quality of the robe is checked before they hand them out! The lockers are free and work with your wrist band which was great! The venue has a no phones policy and get you to put your phone in a locked pouch, which the open for you again when you leave! I think this is a great idea and more places should adopt this! There are plenty of changing cubicles too! The roof top thermal pool was great! Really warm and with a lovely view! They have little cages to put your towel and robe in! There’s a ice room where you can cook down rubbing some ice over your body. The infra red sauna was great as was the Roman steak room and the Georgian steam room. The relaxation room was lovely with stars on the ceiling and a video on a loop! Downstairs there is another large thermal pool which was fabulous! There were loads of pegs to put your robe and lots of reclining chairs to chill on. Everywhere was really clean and the staff were really friendly! There is complimentary shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and hairdryers. Everything you need! If I’m ever back in Bath then I’d 100% go back! Amazing, relaxing experience!

    Perfect Relaxation Getaway
I called and booked 2 treatments for my parents traveling from London, they are the sweetest, most unproblematic people ever, and they called me with such joy explaining they had the best experience ever. This was their first ever spa experience and now keep asking me to rebook it. I'd like to thank the team for taking care of them and making them feel safe and welcomed. 11/10

    Nice
Roof top was lovely, it was very busy which I would say made it less relaxing couldn’t get into any of the steam rooms or sauna. But overall it was nice, we had a cheese board after and that was lovely! Be prepared you can’t take your phones in

Wow wow wow. What fabulous spa pools.
I enjoyed a 2 hour stay with my sis. We loved the rooftop pool, we were unable to take pics.
The water temperature was heavenly. We enjoyed a coffee and yummy flapjack then went back home feeling relaxed and very happy.
Having the October sun shine on your skin whilst enjoying the spa pool and looking at the Bath scenery was magical.

It is definitely a great spa, however it did get quite busy and could barely use the saunas and relaxation room because of this. The pools are great, and so are the treatments. The ice room was a bit disappointing - really doesn't look like the pictures and it's not very cold in there.
I do like that they don't allow phones in. Makes the experience amazing.
Nevertheless, it is worth the money.

The staff were great, especially Hallie and the chemical engineer. Locker rooms a bit tight but a very enjoyable day. A good selection of services (although my daughter said the massage was a bit poor). However don't let this put you off going. Enjoy the pool, the view and the spa.

Overall disappointing. Was there for 9am booking. Pools were lovely but 2 out of 3 saunas not turned on. Showers not working either. Some obvious repairs needed ( hooks broken in changing cubicles, lockers not working). Cafe not open by 9:30.

Visited again with my daughters who had not been before. The price had gone up since my last visit but the spa had also been updated. Ok when paying for one but bank of mum had to pay x3! We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 hours, the steam rooms and roof top pool are lovely. The robes and towels are great too. Just remember to take some slides/crocs or buy the slippers there.

As mentioned in another review, this is more like a spa factory. There is nothing relaxing about it at all. When we visited there were two hen parties rotating through the sauna, steam room and spa, lots of loud talking and laughing. In every single room there were people talking, jam packed with people. Endless walking up and down stairs. People wearing outdoor shoes round the indoor pool. Showers two floors below the changing rooms. I have never been to such a stressful spa, ever.
