These tours are genuinely as good and enjoyable as everything you have read or heard others (eg, Rick Steves) say. You would be foolish, very foolish, not to take the Mayor's Guide Tour.

This service which is offered free was the best thing we did. It was an easy stroll even with a walking stick. The guide was extremely knowledgable and all the information was so interesting.

This is a MUST do. The guide I had today, Ken, was both extremely knowledgeable and charming. He took us around the important places, explained the history and architecture behind everything, and I got a great orientation for my own further exploration.

Lesley is such a good tour guide. Very knowledgeable but also kept the whole tour really interesting. I've been to Bath a few times, but this time was particularly good because of this tour. Would highly recommend!

The tour we did started at the Roman Baths, beside the Abbey .Many of the stopping points are in nearby streets. Maybe different tour guides do different routes. The city centre is very manageable so it would be very easy... More

They didn't stop near anywhere to sit down. It is two hours of gentle walking but quite a lot of standing and listening too. A couple carrying a baby had to step out half way through - you can leave the tour at any point... More
