Walking into the hall it was very easy to imagine the social gatherings that were part of Bath society in years gone by. The place is well used for functions of various kind,

We visited in early March as part of our guided walk around Bath.We were very impressed by the superb chandeliers and it did not need a vivid imagination to think of the Balls which took place there.

The Assembly Rooms are very impressive and play their part in the history of Bath. You can get someone to tell you exactly what it was like in Georgan times.

For visitors to Bath - particularly any Jane Austen fans - this is a 'must see'. The rooms are elegant and spacious, and one can just imagine Georgian society - at its apex - mingling and dancing here. The architecture is beautiful. There is a cafe if you're feeling a bit nibbly. Admission is free, which makes it really a... More

Just entering the building we felt as if we were in the shadow of Jane Austen and all the people who danced and cavorted there in its heyday.

We visited this attraction at the same time as the fashion museum and the rooms have been tastefully decorated in the Georgian style and you can really get a sense of what the rooms would have been like in their heyday. A word of warning is that the rooms can sometimes be booked for private functions and would be closed... More

Well maintained rooms, part of Bath's heritage. Enjoyed our visit. No charge to see this, but extra if you wanted the fashion museum. Tablets around with information about the rooms if you wanted to know more about their history.

The coffee shop was a wonderful environment to relax and recover after the walk up the hill from the bottom of the city. The Assembly rooms themselves were fully open (no private functions) and were magnificent. Combined with a visit to the Fashion Museum it was the highlight of the day for us.

When Bath was a popular resort in the 18th and early 19th centuries, the Assembly Rooms were where fashionable people came to socialize. These were the types of people you meet in Jane Austen's novels and she did in fact write about the Assembly Rooms in two of her novels. The Assembly Rooms consist of three large rooms. One was... We went to visit The Fashion Museum within the assembly rooms. Really enjoyed it . Beautiful clothes . Amazing to think of the people who wore them. And of the people who have given the to the museum for us all to share
