Such a disappointing visit! The whole building gives an impression of clutter, mess and untidiness; plastic chairs seem to be breeding in every corner! Similar size church buildings do not give this impression when one walks around them. Why does a beautiful church like this...More

This is one of the most magnificent churches in U.K. Our friends from USA loved it. The pews are slowly being removed to make it more of a Community Church which can be used for a variety of events. We attended a Gala Dinner in...More

St Laurences is reputedly the largest Parish Church in Britain. It is of Cathedral stature. Visitor's are always made to feel welcome, it is always warm inside too. There is nearly always something on display of local or historic intrest. Visit the Church shop, situated...More

We have popped into St. Laurence's quite often and always take our visitors there as part of our 'Tour de Ludlow'. The whole of the church is stunning and a must see and I'm not really a religious person. However one cannot help feel something...More

Beautiful church, very large for a small town. Midnight mass on Christmas Eve is lovely and the service on Christmas morning is really involving with the participation of the congregation. Really worth going to these services even if you only normally go to church for...More

This is a beautiful church but it is also community centric. Such a wonderfully inviting admosphere. This year there was an 'Ale Wife' event which I know some did not agree with, but we went to support it and had a lovely evening listening to...More

Such a beautiful church right in the centre of Ludlow. Beautiful wood and stone carvings. The volunteers are friendly and knowledgeable. A must for a little bit of peace and tranquility.

Would never have guessed such a beautiful church could be found in a town the size of Ludlow. The “Jesse Window”, from about 1330, in the Lady’s Chapel, is not to be missed. The choir stalls, from the 15th century, are ornately carved with many...More
