Weston Park is an award-winning, family-friendly museum where the visitors come first. If visiting with children, simply wind up and release, but there is plenty of treasure here for adults too. Discover the real story of Sheffield, from its geological roots to the people, politics and music that shaped the modern city. Alongside old favourites such as Snowy the Polar Bear and Spike the Woolly Rhino, Weston Park plays host to a series of temporary exhibitions.

Well worth a visit

Free to get in, lots of interesting exhibits and displays, plenty of interactive stuff for the kids, and then you can go and have a picnic in the grounds. Lovely!

We do go to this museum at least once a year if not every two, as there is plenty for the kids to do and see, the downsides are that there could be a room that shows something different every so often, as the majority of it does stay the same and can get boring. The cafe is a little... More

A very varied selection of exhibits from animals to fossils to ancient finds to art. There was also a lot of info on the local area. It was well laid out and well looked after.

Having lived in Sheffield for 3 years I don't know why we haven't visited the museum before. Decided to go as it was a cold rainy Sunday and we wanted something to do. We thought it would be a quick wander round and mildly interesting but we were pleasantly surprised by the amount of exhibits in the building. The museum... More

Great, very interesting, something for everyone i think. Cafe and gift shop there, easy access with bus/tram though parking bit tricky. Lovely park with landscaping, ponds and tennis courts!

It's taken a bit of time but we are delighted by the work that has been done in regards to new additions and the fixing of old installations ie; the mechanical figures that can be operated with a button push. Also delighted that there are now sound effects on the big tree mock up which is excellent. The underfloor lighting... More

The museum's permanent themes are attractively arranged. For a few months there is an amazing collection of portraits with brief notes about each person, where they came from and what they contributed here in Sheffield. The photographer who lives locally has created a stunning collection.
