Weston Park is an award-winning, family-friendly museum where the visitors come first. If visiting with children, simply wind up and release, but there is plenty of treasure here for adults too. Discover the real story of Sheffield, from its geological roots to the people, politics and music that shaped the modern city. Alongside old favourites such as Snowy the Polar Bear and Spike the Woolly Rhino, Weston Park plays host to a series of temporary exhibitions.

My six year old particularly loved having a clipboard and running around the museum with her friend answering the questions. Cafe didn't have much atmosphere and was overpriced.

Decent, but not spectacular, museum surrounded by a nice park. It has an interesting section on Sheffield urban history and another, not so good one, on prehistory in the area. Various other exhibitions on wildlife etc. It's free entry so worth a bash.

Great museum, lots of different exhibitions. Of particular interest is the Egyptian area and the history of Sheffield. The cafe is a touch expensive to eat in in my opinion but it's always clean and the toilets are clean too

Fabulous range of exhibits, gives an exciting, interactive view of both local and international history, as well as natural history (taxidermy galore!). Highlights: Spike the Woolly Rhino, the Egyptian mummies, 'junk bugs'.

It's free but there are several reminders about a donation. £5 is suggested.
