The Trans Pennine runs from the east to west coast. Linking up with numerous other tracks and is part of the national cycle path. Choose your distance and enjoy a traffic free ride. It's brilliant. Finally lottery money well spent.

The TPT is an amazing free resource. I feel so lucky to have the trail pass my house meaning wonderful walking and cycling. in South Yorkshire it criss crosses with the many cycle paths. I have cycled Wortley to Dunford Bridge and back several times and always happy I do it that way the downhill back is a definite advantage!... More

Visited the website and found out a free car park and managed a spot although it is so tiny!! The trail is a good walk, it was a warm day so very busy with cyclists and dog walkers like ourselves. Could do with cyclists sticking to one side or path really as it got a bit annoying them coming up... More

The Trans Pennine Trail runs right by where we live so, as I have been walking a lot lately I have used it a lot. Both local trips and some longer ones (across the Pennines from Penistone to Stockport and from Leeds to Barnsley). It is pretty well signposted and well maintained. If I had some criticisms they would be... More

Trans Pennine Trail is connecting West and East shores of England. The central part of it is running through Sheffield, part of it just on the back of my house. I walked some part of it and can say this is great attractions for walkers and bikers. Some parts are suitable for horse riding as well.

This is the best way to cycle this route, as others have said it is slightly uphill this way but makes it much easier on the way back. Have cycled this route many times and never tire of the route.Once past Penistone the route becomes more woodland trail and less built up.This route is a real stress buster as you... More

By cycle starting from the car park at Dunford Bridge the trail is slightly down hill for 10 miles until you reach Wortley. Beware, if you then turn round and do the reverse trip the trip feels much steeper. None of the mud from previous years ( not sure that's a good thing ) but plenty to see and interesting... More
