Me and my wife were in Sheffield for a few days. We visited the Botanical Gardens. What a beautiful place to visit. So quiet and peaceful and great for a lovely walk. You can probably cover the entire walk in a few hours. Parking is available but near the side roads. There is also a onsite cafe. If I lived... More

Visited twice this summer, once for the finale night of Music in the Gardens, which was amazing! Well organised, brilliant facilities. the second time we popped in to see The Herd Elephants and didn't realise what a beautiful secret garden it is, we came late in the day, so need to come back again and have a proper explore.

The botanical gardens are still great especially the refurbed Victorian green houses, however some of the borders now look totally unmaintained, I'm guessing due to austerity measures by the council.

I've been coming here since I can remember when I was accompanying my grandparents. I now bring my children when I visit Sheffield. This place is a credit to the city and is well maintained. Not to busy that it's annoying in summer. A great place to spend an hour or two away from the hustle and bustle. Great.

A lovely haven of calm and quiet away from the hub-bub of Sheffeild. Clean tidy and well maintained with ample seating where you can relax and chill. Do visit the hot houses for fabulous selection of exotic plants. The cafe serves excellent meals, drinks and wonderful home made cakes.

What a great place to go to get away from all the hustle and bustle, yet it's so close to town and the Ecclesall Road. Went a couple of time in the summer, always something new to see. The cafe is also ok for a snack.

Lovely place to walk around on a sunny autumn afternoon. Large variety of indoor plants, with so much to see in the well-kept grounds too. There is a café here serving meals and snacks - although we didn't visit it on this occasion. All this - and free entry.

A good destination for refreshing, enjoying nature, especially during autumn where the trees are very colourful. Take about two hours to complete the walking.
