Millhouses Park is located approximately 3 miles south-west of Sheffield City Centre. Part of the park was gifted by Earl Fitzwilliam & Marquis of Zetland in 1909, with the remainder purchased by Sheffield City Council. Recent improvements include the Splash! project, located on the site of the old swimming pool and lido and reintroduces water play into the park, many years after the lido was closed and filled in. It is an interactive play area designed to be both playful and educational with kit such as an Archimedes screw, hand pumps and see saws that pump water into a large snaking channel, where it can be dammed in several places before being scooped by a water wheel and fed into a recycling tank. The water then feeds the toilets, can be used to water plants and tops up the boating lake. The Fishway project has seen the old paddling pools filled in and converted into natural habitat that will allow fish such as trout to bypass the two weirs on the River Sheaf and move upstream to spawn. The design is very complex and incorporates rock pools, overhangs and resting places and mimics their natural habitat as much as possible. Park Facilities include:On-Site Parking2 multi-purpose fields Outdoor Gym Skate Park Obstacle Course Traditional Playground Zipwire SPLASH! This is very much our local park, and is very popular with people that live in Sheffield. There is a nice river,The Sheaf, running through it. There is a children's activity course, swings, skateboard park, outdoor gym equipment, putting green, boating lake, cricket ground, ornamental gardens and open spaces. The Council is unable or unwilling to fully look after it, but... More

One of my favourite parks but can be made perilous when crossing the road as people park dangerously to avoid paying the minimal parking fee at the two car parks! Lovely for a stroll but fantastic for kids of all ages as lots to do and a superb cafe which serves restaurant food!

we take our grandchild here whenever weather is dry, he loves the play area, swings, slides, climbing frame, and wandering round the water area, even when there is no water. Also a pleasant walk by the river, skate park, boating lake, easy parking, and a lovely café serving snacks, good cappuccino , and cakes.

I'm so old that I went when the swimming pool was open air and 100 yards long. Even went on Christmas and New Years day. So a visit today is very different although the park itself has hardly changed. Not worth travelling far to so it's really just for locals.

Great facilities for children of all ages, plenty of things to do and enough options for food in our around the park. The cake is expensive in the cafe but it is good! . When the water park section opens it'll be packed!!

It's my local park and makes great use of the space it has. Plenty of room for lots of activities. The path around the cricket pitch is a nice 400m circuit. Running up the path and back along the road is okay. Good scene at the weekends with lots of folk having fun.
