We took a trip on the Rose of Hungerford canal boat based at Hungerford. It was a lovely peaceful way to explore the canal on a very hot afternoon. The staff were very pleasant and knowledgeable about the K & A canal. Reasonable price for...More

The recent drive they did at the croft beam museum was fascinating. Very knowledgeable staff. I love kayaking along the canal, just wish there were less locks! Always a pleasure.

Beautiful canal that was restored in the 1950's and has narrow boats gliding up and down. Aldermaston is a great place to come fishing for barbel and chub on tje Kennet, close to the canal.

A very typical and average canal, nothing to see much, the water looks dirty and the apartments around it makes the water darker.

We parked by the Crofton Beam Engines. The parking at the place is charged but there are spaces in the lanes so you don’t have to pay. Walked from there to where the canal meets the A346, where there is the Crofton crane which is...More

We rode through Bradford on Avon, stopped at the Trust cafe for tea and pressed on to Bath. The cycle track through the city is well marked and although it is a steady climb for the 14 miles to Bristol the gradient is only slight...More

Walked the towpath from Newbury to Kintbury on a sunny Saturday morning and it was absolutely lovely. It's about 6 miles and took 2 hours. This stretch of canal is really picturesque with a couple of locks along the way for added interest. Walking is...More

If you are walking you can stay on the canal for the whole way. Some of the path is narrow and simply a grass track. From Bath to Devizes you will be sharing the path with cyclists. As far as how long it will take... More
