Forbury Gardens is conveniently located near to Reading Town centre and a nice green space to sit, relax and take in the many aspects - these include the somewhat austere War Memorial dedicated to those from the area who lost their lives in the two...More

These are a small set of gardens bordering the town and prison, the statue is lovely memorial, and the gardens themselves small, bit well designed and worth a 10 min look around, or they are a peaceful place to sit for lunch. Handy for the...More

Forbury Gardens is a fine park in the centre of Reading. It faces the gateway of the medieval Abbey, and it is dominated by a huge statue of a lion commemorating soldiers who died in Afghanistan.

Very well maintained and pleasant town park with lots of Victorian character. A welcome break from the busy shopping centre in Reading nearby. The park has all of the features you would expect from a Victorian park - a bandstand, big sculptures, a fountain and...More

Busy roads, aircraft, building sites, the soundscape has it all. Not suitable for cycling; too many people, paths are all gravel. Don't sit under the trees. They have ants.

At Forbury Gardens? It's a public garden, so just walk around and enjoy its beauty. If you want specific tips about other bits of Reading, feel free to ask - I live here.
