We walked about the grounds entering in the people's free entrance in Woodstock; found back along the Oxford Road towards Chippy (other free entrances for people on foot, can be found in Bladen & Coombe). Glorious day and most enjoyable walk around the grounds, followed...More

What a beautiful place and if you walk in, it doesn’t cost a penny to enjoy the cafe, gift shop or grounds. The Oxford marathon was in progress when we arrived, so it was buzzing with people. Highly Recommended if your in the area!

Lots of places say they’re a great day out, but here we really did spend all day looking round. After the house we walked the grounds, then took the train up to the family park where we went in the Bygones shed and butterfly house.

Visited the palace today. Found the experience good overall but very expensive for entry and gift shop produce. Guided tour was fantastic and far better than the audio guide. Building is not set up for easy navigation and the grounds not accessible for the disabled.

We love this palace and we have already been twice, by ourselves and with friends! Such an educative, beautiful place. We love both the palace, the gardens and the restaurant for lunch!

If this was only going to be a one off visit then it is quite pricey, especially for a family. However, if likely to return, then you can upgrade to an annual pass for free. Prices in the cafes were a bit steep - take...More

Not essential. The audio guide is very good, and there are guides around if you have questions.
