This pub is great! The food is fabulous and plentiful. The staff friendly. The pub itself is cosy and much smaller than in 'Morse', tho' we would recommend it. Seats are close together, which adds to the ambience of the pub. If you're doing a...More

Have been a regular visitor to the White Horse in the last four years, while our son has been in Oxford - and it was where we always arranged to meet a London-based friend who would come up to join us whenever we were down...More

This is a lovely old pub in the centre of Oxford. I enjoyed a pleasant couple of hours here with a friend, drinking ale in a cosy, convivial atmosphere whilst the rain fell outside. I noticed a lot of other visitors were from overseas, and...More

This warm and atmospheric pub dates from the 16th century when it was used as a recruiting center for the Royalists during the Civil War. The interior is rich in dark beams, old paneling and framed pictures on the walls. Some scenes in the “Inspector...More

If you're a Morse fan, you can't not go here. Atmospheric, warm, friendly. Very British, and a good place to examine your Blackwell's purchases.

The White Horse is located in Broad Street and serves an awesome fish and chips dinner along with other foods. Great old English pub that has a cosy interrior. A great place to eat in Oxford City centre and totally recommend.

Had a lovely meal here - beautiful, quaint, tiny pub oozing history!! Difficult to get a table because it's always full but worth the effort.

One of the memorable pubs of Oxford and we believe the best fish and chips. Limited seating so go early or be patient, as it is worth it. Can't beat the location - right on Broad Street.

Couldn't get in the first two tries, but made it for lunch. Lucky me! The Lamb Shank special was fabulous and a good deal at 10.95 pounds. I was stuffed. Definitely recommend as the real deal.

So charming, lovely staff and reasonably priced drinks. We did not eat here, but the food looked (and smelt!!) lovely. Obviously there is the Morse connection, but it would be a place we would visit anyway.

The people running this place are lovely, happy to help in any way. The food is proper British pub fare - the chicken korma is excellent! the wine list is pretty basic but you're better off with ales and cider anyway. Really well priced and...More
