My son is into magic and a Groupon offer alerted me to the fact a Magician was performing at our local theatre, that we frequent often. I searched for tickets via the theatres ticket site but found by using Groupon it was half the price so obviously I went for the offer, which said it's easy just pay, print and... More

This is a lovely theatre, it has some history which can be found on the website. I have seen a few shows here and the most recent being Some Guys Have All The Luck, the Rod Stewart Story. It was a good show and everyone was encouraged to be up dancing at the end. There was a pianist playing in... More

Went to see Roy Wood at the New Theatre Oxford. Show was to start at 19.30. It did, but it was a young man with his guitar , playing , alone, some covers and some of his own. Nice, but with a band it might have been better. 45 minutes and it was over. Then the lights went on, people... More

Went to see the story of the Kinks at this quaint old theatre, found the show to be very good, with a good cast, music was entertaining and well-played although I'll admit not really old enough to know a lot but did recognise one or two of their hits, but still a good show. Would see it again.

Its not The New Theatres fault thoogh they do host a lot of rubbish in my opinion. Went to view Sunny Afternoon about The Kinks. This show does contain adult sexual expeletives & quite strong ones at that including a regerence to oral sex and marzipan. Only for one fleeting moment did I sense the original energy feeling getting up during... More

I think this is a wonderful theatre. We had front row seats so could see and hear everything perfectly. The show 'Sunny Afternoon ' is terrific. If you get the chance to see it do.

Lovely old fashioned theatre with character. We wanted to see Lord of the Dance ever since my daughter got the video aged 4! Of course Flatley is long retired and rightfully enjoying his millions and this production is a reasonable tribute act, but I left slightly sad that it had lost its shine and no-one had any real stage presence.... Went to Oxford to see Johnny Cash tribute and wow what a show the guy that takes the lead is outstanding and if you close your eyes it takes you back to the real thing all the backing artists and musicians were also top dollar great show highly recommend

Having read many of the reviews on here before attending our concert which was the Johnny Cash Roadshow i have to say that i was not expecting too much regarding the theatre itself, but in all honesty i saw nothing whatsoever that warrants some of the negative comments given and have nothing but the highest praise for both the theatre itself...
