Obviously I can't review everything the Playhouse puts on but this one-night show was excellent. Thoroughly entertaining - a mix of acrobatics, gymnastics and a touch of ballet. Really entertaining for nearly all ages and great value-for-money at £18 per ticket for an adult. The seating has been refurbished and is very comfortable; good drinks on sale in the bars.... More

In one of those serendipitous moments, my husband and I discovered the Richard Burton/Elizabeth Taylor Studio adjoining The Oxford Playhouse. We bought tickets (at the "senior concession" price, thank you) for "Operation Crucible." We sat in the front row of the 50-seat theater and spent the next 75 minutes completely engrossed and mesmerized by the four actors who carried the... More

We actually hadn't planned to see a play, we had arrived in Oxford for the half marathon the next day and popping into a pub we saw a flyer for the play. We had heard about the play so hot footed it down to the theatre and got a couple of great seats - well I must say the play... More

My daughter treated me to Peter Pan in scarlet. A nicely refurbed theatre, funny whimsical and delightful way to spend a rainy afternoon.

Superb performance by an immensely talented cast. Great enjoyment for all ages. Went with my wife and three teenage daughters. We were blown away by it

My husband and I went to see Peter Pan in Scarlet yesterday evening with our two girls 9 and 6. What an incredible performance. The acting was superb, atmosphere was amazing and we had an absolutely fabulous evening. Perfect for all the family. The theatre had just completed its renovation and looks beautiful. Thank you to all for such a... More

Having never been to the Oxford Playhouse before I wasn't sure what to expect, I'm always weary of getting a duff view. I wasn't disappointed on this occasion. A spacious theatre and I'm pretty sure everyone had a good view. The bar/cafe upstairs was being run by two friendly, efficient gentlemen and prices were reasonable for food and drink alike.... We went with friends (4 adults and 4 children) to see Dear Father Christmas. Having BT been to this before we really had no idea what to expect. Well it was amazing!! We all really enjoyed it and left talking about booking again for next year. I will certainly be keeping a look out in the future for productions at... More

The Playhouse is a pleasant enough place and seems to be reasonably popular, so it's difficult to understand why they haven't been keeping up the fabric of the building. The carpet is literally held together with sticky tape and the seats are old and decrepit. Smarten it up please!

We went to see the panto because our daughter had made one of Widow Twankey's costumes. We hadn't been to the Oxford Playhouse before and thought it was a good local theatre - the staff were all friendly and the seats comfortable and well tiered in the stalls - we sat in the centre of Row H which were excellent...
