If you enjoy crew racing, there is no better event than the HRR! The head to head racing makes things very exciting. You can watch this for free on the river bank or buy a ticket to one of the enclosures. If you are lucky...More

Throughout sculling history there has been the Henley Royal Regatta. It is accessible by a short train ride from Paddington Station in London. People do dress for the races which is an international event. The cost is reasonable.

It was a dismal day but pleasant enough to stroll down stream to the lock and back up to the tented area followed by a walk around the town. Weatherspoons was handy for a rat and drink but Sunday’s are fairly quiet so a few...More

Admittedly the regatta was held in perfect weather, but it is an outstanding event. Very popular, expect major traffic delays and large crowds in popular eating venues. An event where tradition is upheld. There are certain standards of dress if participating in the marque celebrations....More

We had a great girlie day, wearing our prettiest summer dresses and soaking up the atmosphere. Staff are great and the boat racing is interesting. Jugs of pimms and afternoon tea make a relaxing day. Would definitely recommend for a day out.

An Edwardian time-warp (with draconian dress codes) - but all rather lovely for it. An astonishing array of tented "buildings" (posh loos, glorious restaurants, and a champagne bar); monogrammed deckchairs ... and the excitement of the rowing. Everyone should experience this at least once. (You...More

I attended on a Wednesday and a Friday. Wednesdays are quieter and less crowded and are better if you want to avoid the rush. On Friday we were based in the Remenham Club which is an exclusive club for members and their guests. The riverside...More

Visited the regatta for the first two days as spectators, not buying any hospitality packages, as we weren't sure of the set up. This worked well given the great weather although getting out of the sun was an unforeseen problem. From the town, crossing the...More

Friday and Saturday are usually the busiest. Sunday is relatively quiet as there it’s only finals so there are far fewer races.
