Throughout sculling history there has been the Henley Royal Regatta. It is accessible by a short train ride from Paddington Station in London. People do dress for the races which is an international event. The cost is reasonable.

We had a great girlie day, wearing our prettiest summer dresses and soaking up the atmosphere. Staff are great and the boat racing is interesting. Jugs of pimms and afternoon tea make a relaxing day.
Would definitely recommend for a day out.

Might not be on everyone Bucket List to do but it should be. A great day out and enjoyed by everyone regardless of class and bank balance. Great Sport, Beautiful Countryside, Cold River and plenty of Character and Characters, it is quintessentially english.
I attended on a Wednesday and a Friday. Wednesdays are quieter and less crowded and are better if you want to avoid the rush.
